Militants deploy in Seiyun, sparking panic among residents

SEIYUN, Sept. 12 (YPA) – Dozens of unidentified armed men unexpectedly deployed across central Seiyun city in Hadramawt province on Saturday, an area under Saudi influence in eastern Yemen.

Local sources said the men, dressed in civilian clothes, moved through Seiyun’s streets aboard military vehicles belonging to Saudi-backed factions.

The sources said the deployment of the unidentified gunmen, who reportedly arrived from Marib, sparked widespread fear and panic among residents due to the unusual presence.

Preliminary assessments indicate that the armed men are affiliated with the Islah Party and include members of Al-Qaeda who were recently brought from Marib to the city, the sources said.
