GAZA, Sept. 03 (YPA) – Civil Defense crews in Gaza recovered 55 bodies and remains of martyrs from under the rubble of a building belonging to the “Malika” family in the Zeitoun area, east of Gaza City, after three days of continuous searching.
Colonel Muhammad Abu Dan, the project supervisor, said on Thursday that the building housed about 60 displaced people who had taken refuge there two years ago, fleeing Israeli bombing. He added that the crews have so far managed to recover most of the family members’ bodies, and they will be buried in a unified funeral procession early next week.
Abu Dan explained that the recovery operations are facing significant difficulties due to a shortage of heavy machinery, bulldozers, and trucks needed to remove the rubble, calling on international organizations to provide the necessary equipment to recover the remaining missing bodies from under the destroyed buildings.
