Israeli occupation forces demolish inhabited Palestinian home west of Bethlehem amid escalating destruction

BETHLEHEM, Sept. 02 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces demolished on Wednesday an inhabited Palestinian home measuring 200 square meters in the town of Nahalin, west of Bethlehem, belonging to local resident Muataz Hassan Musa Najajreh, which had been inhabited for over 15 years.

Naim Fanoun, Mayor of Nahalin, reported that Israeli military forces accompanied by heavy machinery and bulldozers stormed the “Wad Salem” area of the town to carry out the demolition. Fanoun highlighted that the town faces ongoing attacks and strict urban development restrictions due to surrounding Israeli settlements and bypass roads.

The demolition comes amidst a surge in such operations across the territory. Official data shows Israeli occupation authorities executed 71 demolitions targeting 155 structures during August alone, including 47 inhabited homes. Jenin Governorate recorded the highest damage with 29 structures demolished, while Bethlehem Governorate documented the destruction of 13 structures.
