Iran’s supreme leader calls for unity during government week

TEHRAN, Aug. 29 (YPA) –  The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei, in a message marking Government Week, sent important messages to the Iranian government and all state institutions, stressing that any illusory polarization, such as “war or negotiation,” “compromise or confrontation,” and “settlement or war,” could cause direct or indirect harm to the Iranian people.

He stressed that preserving national unity and social cohesion should always remain at the forefront of the government’s attention, as well as that of all officials and state institutions.

Sayyed Mojtaba said that any action taken in the cultural, social, political, security or economic spheres should be implemented with consideration for its impact on social cohesion.

He noted that some measures may appear to be supported by certain segments of society, but if this dimension is overlooked, or if measures intended to preserve social cohesion are disregarded during implementation, they could ultimately harm those very segments as well as others.

Sayyed Mojtaba stressed that any discourse that spreads despair and weakens national and public motivation, as well as any form of illusory polarization—such as “war or negotiation,” “compromise or confrontation,” and “settlement or war”—which has caused direct or indirect harm to the Iranian people in the past, could have the same effect going forward.

He categorically declared that any act that harms social cohesion is forbidden, emphasizing that maintaining unity and protecting social cohesion are fundamental responsibilities for the government, its officials and all state institutions.

Sayyed Mojtaba also called for greater emphasis on Iran’s strength and capabilities, urging officials to highlight the country’s achievements and avoid statements that could create despair among the public.

The leader commended the Iranian government’s efforts despite what he described as restrictions, sanctions, blockade and plots by the American and Zionist enemy.

He also praised the government’s achievements and specifically commended the president, describing him as honest and dedicated and crediting him with major accomplishments.
