Two Palestinian women, 14-year-old girl wounded by Israeli gunfire near Hebron

HEBRON, Aug. 27 (YPA) – Two Palestinian women and a 14-year-old girl were wounded by Israeli gunfire late Wednesday night in the town of Al-Karmel, south of Hebron.

Palestinian sources reported that Israeli occupation forces raided Al-Karmel, deployed across its streets, and stormed several Palestinian homes, turning them into military outposts. The soldiers then opened live fire at a vehicle carrying several women, wounding two women, aged 58 and 30, and a 14-year-old girl in the face and head.

Qassem Abu Aram, head of the Al-Karmel municipality and husband of one of the wounded women, said that his wife was returning with friends from a wedding when soldiers opened heavy fire on their vehicle as they reached the center of the town.

He added that  the shooting occurred without warning and despite there being no military checkpoint or visible indication that Israeli forces were conducting a raid in the area.

Abu Aram identified his wife as Sanaa Abu Aram, 58, and the girl as Lana Al-Hroush, 14, saying both sustained facial injuries from explosive dum-dum bullets and were in serious condition. Doaa Al-Hroush, 30, sustained shrapnel wounds to her face.
