Syrian imam reportedly beheaded in northern Aleppo

ALEPPO, Aug. 27 (YPA) –  The body of a mosque imam and preacher was found along the Soran-Talalin road in the northern countryside of Aleppo .

According to preliminary details, unidentified individuals lured Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Ja’ed from his home under the pretext of officiating a marriage ceremony; contact with him was subsequently lost, and he went missing, according to local residents.

His body was later discovered on the Soran–Talalin road; according to available information, the perpetrators had beheaded him and dumped his body by the roadside near a mosque.

The killing was reportedly linked by local media to the sheikh’s public support for celebrating the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.

Internal security forces announced the arrest of all individuals allegedly involved in the crime within less than 24 hours of its occurrence. Authorities confirmed that the suspects have been referred to the relevant judicial bodies for further investigation and legal action.
