NBC News: Iranian strikes cause ‘unprecedented’ damage to US Intelligence Facilities in the Middle East

SANAA, Aug. 26 (YPA) – NBC News has revealed that Iranian missile and drone strikes have caused “unprecedented” damage to US intelligence facilities and surveillance and information-gathering equipment in the Middle East.

The network quoted four informed sources as saying that the attacks targeted buildings and equipment belonging to the CIA and other US intelligence agencies, noting that the extent of the damage exceeds any previous damage and is the most extensive in the history of US intelligence agencies, whereas the cost of repair or replacement is estimated in the billions.

These attacks came amid escalating tensions in the region, following the US and Israeli strikes on Iran last February, to which Tehran responded by targeting sites in countries hosting US forces and assets.

In mid-June, Iran and the United States signed a memorandum of understanding, mediated by Pakistan, to end the war and reach a permanent peace agreement, but negotiations later stalled due to disagreements over the terms of the memorandum and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
