USS George Washington arrives in Middle East

WASHINGTON, Aug. 21 (YPA) – US Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced the deployment of the aircraft carrier USS George Washington to the Middle East.

The movement follows reports of significant operational and crew welfare challenges aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, whose deployment was extended due to ongoing military war with Iran.

According to reports, crew members and service personnel aboard the Abraham Lincoln have been unable to go ashore for months. The extended period at sea has reportedly led to growing mental health concerns among some of the crew.

Additionally, reports highlight emerging sanitation and hygiene issues aboard the vessel, driven by the prolonged operational strain and extended military presence in the region.
