Iran condemns Ukrainian attack on Iranian vessel in Caspian Sea

TEHRAN, July 26 (YPA) – Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned a Ukrainian attack on an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea early Saturday, saying the strike caused an explosion aboard the ship, killing one sailor and injuring another.

In a statement, the ministry characterized the attack as an act of aggression that would further fuel and expand the ongoing conflict, stressing that Iran would not hesitate to defend its national security and interests.

The ministry also held the Ukrainian government, along with its supporters and backers, fully responsible for the consequences arising from the adventurism of the Ukrainian president.
