Sanaa negotiating delegation mocks Saudi role as mediator in Yemen

SANAA, July 25 (YPA) – The Sanaa negotiating delegation has mocked the Saudi theater through which Riyadh seeks to portray itself as a mediator in the Yemen file before the international community.

The delegation said the Saudi attacks contradicted the reality of the war and blockade led by Saudi Arabia for nearly 12 years in full view of the world.

In this regard, Sanaa negotiating delegation member Abdulmalik al-Ajri wrote on his account on the platform X: “Saudi Arabia presenting itself in the role of mediator is a ridiculous play; it is the party leading the war and the blockade.”

He stressed that Saudi Arabia must halt its aggression and interference in Yemen’s internal affairs, which he said were among the main causes behind the political, economic, and social destruction that has affected Yemen.

Al-Ajri concluded by saying: “There is no free Yemeni whose heart does not carry a sense of bitterness toward this harmful and hostile neighbor.”

Earlier, al-Ajri had sent a firm message to Riyadh, outlining Sanaa’s conditions: Saudi Arabia can spare itself the consequences of the Yemen crisis through announcing its withdrawal from Yemen and paying compensation for the reconstruction of what was destroyed by the war.

He added: “As long as it occupies and controls decision-making in the occupied provinces and national resources and imposes a blockade on Yemen, it will remain responsible before the Sanaa authorities and the Yemeni people.”
