SANAA, July 25 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based armed forces of Yemen announced on Saturday that they had carried out two major military operations targeting Saudi Aramco facilities in Jizan and Yanbu.
In a military statement, the military spokesman, Brig. Gen. Yahya Sarie, said that the operation came in response to the Saudi attack on the city and port of Hodeida and Kamaran Island, as well as the continued blockade imposed on the Yemeni people and violations of Yemen’s sovereignty.
The spokesman affirmed that the first operation targeted sensitive facilities belonging to Aramco in Jizan using dozens of ballistic missiles and drones, while the second operation struck sensitive Aramco targets in Yanbu using a number of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones.
Brg. Gen. Sarie stated that both operations successfully achieved their objectives, adding that the strikes were accurate and direct.
He said that, in what he described as a continuation of the blockade against the Yemeni people and a new violation of Yemen’s sovereignty, Saudi forces launched multiple airstrikes overnight on the city and port of Hodeida and Kamaran Island, causing material and moral damage.
The spokesman added that Yemeni air defenses engaged formations of Saudi aircraft after they entered Yemeni airspace, preventing them from carrying out further attacks.
He asserted that the latest Saudi escalation demonstrates Riyadh’s determination to continue its blockade of Yemen and violate the country’s sovereignty, stressing that such actions are unacceptable and would be met with a firm response.
Sarie clarified that the Yemeni armed forces remain committed to defending the country and its people, stating that they will continue to confront the Saudi aggression from the position of justice.
The military spokesman further affirmed that the maritime blockade on Saudi Arabia remains in effect in response to the Saudi aggression and its blockade of Yemen, which they said has continued for twelve years.
He also warned that the armed forces would not hesitate to broaden their military operations and escalate their actions in the coming hours and days, in line with the equation of blockade for blockade and escalation for escalation.
