Israeli occupation bans journalist from Al-Aqsa Mosque

QUDS, July 19 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation authorities issued on Sunday a decision banning Jerusalem journalist Ahmad Al-Safadi, a member of Al Quds-based National Action Committee, from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque, following his arrest from his home in occupied city of al Quds.

Palestinian media reported that the occupation forces raided Al-Safadi’s home and arrested him before taking him to the Al-Qishla police station in the Old City of Al Quds, where he was handed, an order prohibiting him from accessing Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Al Quds province confirmed that the occupation authorities continue to issue expulsion orders against Al-Aqsa defenders, including male and female worshippers and Jerusalemite national figures, as part of a policy aimed at restricting Palestinian presence at the mosque and its surroundings.

The measures come amid tightened restrictions on worshippers’ access to Al-Aqsa Mosque and an increase in settler incursions into the holy site under the protection of occupation forces, as part of ongoing efforts to impose new realities on the ground in the Al-Aqsa compound, alongside escalating security measures targeting Jerusalem residents and activists.
