Iran set to unveil its first radar satellite

TEHRAN, July 15 (YPA) – Iran will soon unveil its first radar satellite, the head of the Iranian Space Agency (ISA), Hassan Salarieh, announced on Wednesday, highlighting continuous progress in the country’s communication and remote sensing satellite projects alongside expanding international cooperation.

Salarieh explained that the domestic space sector is developing across three main pillars: infrastructure, satellites, and data services. He revealed plans to establish a network of satellite control centers aimed at reducing communication latency and orbital testing times.

Furthermore, the space chief noted that the “Chabahar” launch site in southeastern Iran is scheduled to open in the coming months. This facility will be accompanied by the inauguration of new laboratories and research centers, building upon the launch of the “Salmas” control center last year.
