Israeli occupation reverses decision to ban US refueling aircraft from landing at Ben Gurion Airport

OCCUPIED QUDS, July 15 (YPA) – Israeli occupation authorities on Wednesday authorized the resumption of US military refueling aircraft landings at Ben Gurion Airport, following a formal protest lodged by the United States.

The “Israel Airports Authority” (IAA) issued a directive permitting the aircraft to land, reversing an earlier decision by Transportation Minister Miri Regev. The previous directive had banned these landings to free up runway and parking space for commercial flights ahead of the summer holidays.

The initial ban had drawn sharp criticism from Israeli military officials and the US Central Command (CENTCOM), particularly amid ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran, which necessitate keeping refueling aircraft and their crews on high alert within “Israel”.
