UAE-backed militia imposes its control over city of Aden

ADEN, July 11 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia seized control of Aden on Saturday, months after Saudi Arabia had taken control of the city.

Images circulated by activists showed a heavy deployment of the STC militia in the city’s streets. The deployment includes medium-range weapons and crews, including anti-aircraft guns.

The spread was concentrated in several districts, most notably in the Al-Mansoura district, where the central prison is located.

This move comes after the STC called on all its fighters to mobilize in Aden and reflects a Saudi failure to manage the city, with the possibility of its fall.
