New American aggression targets Iran’s civilian docks, Tehran warns of consequences for breaching covenants
TEHRAN, July 08 (YPA) – The American aggression warplanes launched at dawn today, Wednesday, a series of criminal airstrikes targeting vital and civilian facilities in the vicinity of the cities of Sirik and Qeshm in southern Iran.
The strikes directly targeted the commercial seaport of Sirik and the fishing dock in Ziarat village, resulting in casualties among civilian workers. This constitutes a blatant violation and public breach of the ceasefire agreement and the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding signed on June 18.
While the US Central Command acknowledged conducting the strikes, justifying its treacherous aggression with “flimsy allegations” regarding attacks in the Strait of Hormuz, the Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, confirmed that these military operations represent a serious and flagrant violation of the first and second clauses of the memorandum, coinciding with Washington’s continuous breaches and its support for the Zionist entity’s actions in Lebanon.
For its part, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the hostile American behavior in the strongest terms, denouncing the US Department of the Treasury’s revocation of the temporary suspension of oil sanctions, describing the measure as a flagrant violation of the tenth clause of the memorandum and a clear indicator of routine American bad faith and breach of covenants.
The Foreign Ministry held Washington fully responsible for the consequences of this dangerous escalation, emphasizing that while Tehran has fulfilled its commitments, it will not stand idly by and will take all necessary deterrent measures to protect its national security.
