SANAA, July 04 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning issued a warning on Saturday to citizens in the mountainous highlands regarding the dangers of thunderstorms and flash floods in reefs and valleys, urging them to stay clear of floodways during and after rainfall.
The center also cautioned sea-goers, fishermen, and ship captains against sea disturbances and high waves around the Socotra Archipelago, the eastern coasts, and the eastern Gulf of Aden, driven by strong winds reaching speeds of up to 45 knots.
Weather developments across the regions are detailed as follows:
Mountainous Highlands: Fair to partly cloudy skies, gradually turning overcast with thundershowers of varying intensity over parts of Taiz, Ibb, Dhalea, Dhamar, Raymah, Hajjah, and Mahweet governorates. Scattered rainfall is expected over limited parts of Saada, Amran, and Sanaa during the afternoon and evening, with potential water mist or fog forming overnight and during the early morning.
Coastal Areas: Hot and humid weather, with maximum temperatures ranging between 35°C and 39°C. Light, scattered rain is possible over parts of the Socotra Archipelago, the eastern coasts, and the Tihama plain.
Desert Regions: Fair, dry, and hot to extremely hot conditions, with maximum temperatures hovering between 40°C and 45°C, accompanied by winds that may occasionally active to kick up dust and sand.
