SANAA, July 03 (YPA) –The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast scattered rainfall across parts of 17 provinces on Friday, while warning of hot to extremely hot weather in desert, inland plateau, and coastal areas over the next 24 hours.
According to the center’s latest weather bulletin, moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied at times by thunderstorms, is forecast for parts of the provinces of Taiz, Ibb, Dhalea, Dhamar, Mahwit, western Sanaa, and southern Amran.
The center also forecast scattered showers across parts of Hajjah, western Saada, Raymah, and Al Bayda provinces, the highlands of Lahij and Abyan, as well as parts of the Mahra coast, the Tihama Plain, and the Socotra Archipelago.
It added that hot to extremely hot weather is expected to persist across desert regions, inland plateaus, plains, and coastal areas.
The center warned residents to avoid valleys and low-lying areas during rainfall.
It advised residents in areas affected by extreme heat to limit time outdoors and avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours and to stay well hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids.
