Iran expects one of largest international turnouts for Khamenei funeral

TEHRAN, July 02 (YPA) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei announced on Thursday that the farewell and funeral ceremonies for the late leader, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, will be attended by official delegations and political figures from nearly 100 countries, alongside large public and official participation.

Baghaei said the public farewell ceremony will begin on Friday morning and continue until noon, with the participation of large crowds.

High-level official delegations are expected to arrive later in the day, including heads of state, parliamentary speakers, foreign ministers, special government representatives, and prominent political and public figures.

He described the occasion as a historic event that extends beyond Iran’s borders, saying it has attracted broad attention from the peoples of the region, the Islamic world, and supporters around the globe.

Baghaei added that the anticipated international participation is expected to be one of the largest ever seen at the funeral of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution.
