SANAA, July 02 (YPA) – The Sanaa government has presented the United Nations with its vision for achieving peace with Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that confidence-building requires practical steps, foremost among which are resuming flights from Sanaa International Airport and halting the economic escalation practiced by the Saudi regime.
This came during a meeting between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sanaa government, Abdulwahid Abu Ras, and the Director of the Office of the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Mohamed Al-Ghannam.
During the meeting, Abu Ras affirmed Sanaa’s commitment to a just and sustainable peace, rejecting the continuation of the aggression, blockade, and occupation imposed since March 26, 2015. He called on the UN Envoy to fulfill his role and advance the peace process through tangible steps to pave the way forward.
The meeting also addressed the areas of cooperation between the Ministry and the Envoy’s office, while Al-Ghannam reaffirmed the United Nations’ commitment to continuing its efforts aimed at achieving peace in Yemen.
