1,000 Days of war: Palestinian resistance factions reaffirm Gaza’s steadfastness and Israeli occupation’s failure
GAZA, July 02 (YPA) – The Palestinian resistance factions in the Gaza Strip affirmed on Thursday that the Zionist genocide—directly supported by the US administration and Western lobbies—which has now reached its 1,000th day, represents a blatant embodiment of organized state terrorism and the true face of Zionist and Western colonialism.
The factions noted that while the world witnessed a systematic genocide in all its forms, the Zionist enemy has failed to achieve its declared wartime objectives, particularly those pertaining to displacement and uprooting, despite the horrific scale of destruction and the expanding humanitarian catastrophe.
In a press statement, the factions declared “1,000 days of war and confrontation between the Zionist-American and Western colonial system—heavily armed with all varieties of American and Western-made weaponry—against our people, who are unarmed except for their will. Yet, our proud people have not been defeated, and the spirit of resistance ignited by Gaza and its Tufan (Flood) can no longer be extinguished. Every attempt to impose surrender only sows the seeds of a deeper and broader resistance.”
The statement added, “The battle of Al-Aqsa Flood and the glorious crossing constituted a major milestone in our people’s ongoing struggle, jihad, and resistance since the usurpation of the land of Palestine in 1948. It was a natural response to the continuous crimes of the Zionist entity in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem (Quds), and against the siege, settlement expansion, and Judaization. To anyone trying to portray this operation as the beginning of the conflict or the root cause of our people’s suffering, we remind them that the Zionist enemy’s crimes have not ceased since the usurpation of Palestine until this day. Meanwhile, the resistance has always been active, continuous, and ablaze across all arenas of jihad, resistance, and struggle, underscoring our people’s steadfastness and resolve in confronting the Zionist aggression.”
The factions emphasized the Palestinian people’s right to resist in all forms, stressing the necessity of escalating resistance in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the territories occupied in 1948 to counter annexation plans, settlement policies, Judaization, and the enemy’s attempts to decisively settle the conflict.
Furthermore, the factions expressed their rejection of any foreign trusteeship over the Palestinian people, asserting that the administration of the Gaza Strip is a strictly internal Palestinian affair.
They also called for the launching of a comprehensive national dialogue to establish a genuine political partnership, formulate a unified national strategy, address major national causes, organize the Palestinian internal front, and rebuild national institutions—including the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO)—to render it inclusive of all Palestinian components in order to confront the immense challenges threatening the Palestinian cause.
