ADEN, June 28 (YPA) – A woman in the Saudi-controlled city of Aden, south of Yemen, has accused a commander of the Security Belt Forces (SBF) of forcibly displacing her and her children from their home after she refused to comply with a demand involving handing over her daughter to him.
In a circulated video, the mother said she is living in difficult humanitarian conditions after being forced to flee with her family out of fear for their safety from a commander of the so-called SBF affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in the Mansoura district, identified as “Mazen Hazeb Al-Yafei,” following her refusal to hand over her daughter to him.
She explained that she had appealed to another Security Belt commander, “Jalal Al-Rubaie,” seeking protection and justice, but said she did not receive any meaningful response.
She issued a public appeal to the people of Aden and the wider Yemeni public to support her family, which she said is now living in fear and displacement.
The woman also alleged that the commander “Mazen Hazeb” is involved in similar practices involving other girls in the city, claiming that some cases ended with victims being detained in prison.
There are also accusations that commander Al-Rubaie provided protection to individuals involved in violations against citizens and women in Aden, though it was later reported that “Mazen Hazeb” was handed over after recordings and documents related to alleged abuses were circulated.
The incident comes amid a series of reports and recordings shared by rights platforms regarding alleged kidnappings, sexual and financial blackmail targeting women in Aden, as well as accusations of involvement in child rape cases, with growing human rights calls for urgent investigations into these violations.
