Iran binds Washington to “commitment for commitment” principle, warns against misinterpreting understandings

TEHRAN, June 25 (YPA) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, asserted that the US administration has never demonstrated any sincerity toward the Iranian people.

He emphasized that the principle of “commitment for commitment” requires fulfilling mutual obligations without offering interpretations that contradict the explicit text of the memorandum of understanding.

Baghaei explained that Iran entered the diplomatic track in good faith and signed the “memorandum of understanding on ending the imposed war” despite its distrust of America, stressing that Tehran acts with utmost vigilance, drawing on the experiences of the past five decades in confronting US policies.

The spokesperson demanded that Washington put an end to evading its pledges and strictly adhere to the substance of the signed agreements without distortion.
