Massive fire destroys Al-Tawila village in northeast Syria, Turkish army accused of involvement
DAMASCUS, June 20 (YPA) – The Syrian “Hawar” news agency reported on Saturday a near-total destruction of Al-Tawila village in the Tal Tamr countryside, northeast of Syria, due to large-scale fires attributed to Turkish bases deployed in the area.
The agency explained that the Turkish base stationed in Leylan village ignited fires in its vicinity, which rapidly spread to neighboring agricultural lands and homes, causing severe damage to private property and service infrastructure amid the residents’ inability to control the flames.
It further noted that the region has recently witnessed a series of sporadic fires amid accusations of involvement by fires originating from Turkish bases, resulting in heavy losses to crops and civilian property.
