Israeli occupation forces announce 5 soldiers injured by booby-trapped drone in southern Lebanon

BEIRUT, June 17 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation forces announced this evening, Wednesday, that five of their soldiers were injured after a booby-trapped drone targeted a military force in southern Lebanon, confirming that some of the injuries were described as serious.

In a brief statement, the Israeli occupation forces said that the incident resulted in a number of casualties among their ranks, without disclosing the exact location of the explosion or the party responsible for it.

The attack comes amid the continuation of the Israeli aggression on southern Lebanon, despite the ceasefire announcement made by US President Donald Trump on April 17, 2026, which has not put an end to the Israeli military aggression inside Lebanese territory.

The occupation forces continue to carry out sporadic raids and military operations in various Lebanese areas, at a time when Beirut accuses the occupation entity of violating the ceasefire understandings and continuing its cross-border attacks.

In a related context, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from Israeli attacks since March 2nd has risen to 3,826 martyrs and 11,851 injured, signaling the ongoing humanitarian and security repercussions of the continuous escalation.
