FBI: Attack plot targeting UFC event at White House foiled

WASHINGTON, June 17 (YPA) – FBI announced it had foiled an alleged plot to target a UFC mixed martial arts event scheduled to be held at the White House as part of the 250th anniversary celebrations of the United States and the 80th birthday of President Donald Trump.

FBI Director Kash Patel said via X that the FBI and its partners received information on June 10 about a potential threat targeting the “UFC America 250” event in Washington, D.C., with participants from outside the capital.

Patel added that several people are currently in custody, confirming that the plot was completely foiled.

Fox News quoted security officials as saying the alleged plan involved using drones loaded with explosives to target buildings near the event site, with the aim of causing a mass evacuation and driving the crowds toward a sniper ambush.
