Military expert calls for confronting Saudi forces in southern Yemen

ABU DHABI, June 17 (YPA) – Military expert Khaled Al-Nasi, who resides in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, called for confronting Saudi forces in southern Yemen regardless of the circumstances or potential consequences.

In a post on  “X”, titled “Our Dispute with Saudi Arabia Has Many Reasons,” Al-Nasi described Saudi Arabia, which he said controls southern Yemen, as an “occupying and terrorist state,” accusing it of spreading insecurity and terrorism in areas under its influence.

Al-Nasi said one of his main grievances was what he described as the kingdom’s deliberate prolongation of the war, which he said had resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and injuries and caused the displacement of millions of people.

He also accused Riyadh of pursuing a policy of deception toward residents of southern provinces since the start of the war in Yemen.

Al-Nasi held Saudi Arabia responsible for the deaths of hundreds of members of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Hadramout and Dhalea, as well as for imposing restrictions on citizens, disrupting public services, suspending salary payments, and dismantling STC-affiliated factions.

He said Saudi Arabia had sought to create “artificial southern entities” to serve its interests, while simultaneously backing traditional political forces to maintain its influence over southern Yemen under the banner of the internationally recognized government.

The military expert also accused Saudi Arabia of facilitating the return of extremist groups al-Qaeda and ISIS to spread instability in southern and eastern Yemen.

Al-Nasi said the situation in Aden and other areas reflected a systematic campaign of chaos and terrorism aimed at forcing local populations to submit to Saudi policies and interests.
