TEHRAN, June 16 (YPA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced that the first phase of negotiations has concluded after 3 months, noting that its most prominent outcome is ending the state of war.
He explained that the memorandum of understanding—which involves the United States and “Israel” on one side, and Iran and Hezbollah on the other—will take effect next Friday.
Araqchi emphasized that the Iranian and Lebanese fronts are “connected,” stressing that the war will not end without “Israel’s” withdrawal from Lebanon, and that any military attack it launches from now on will be considered a violation of the memorandum.
In a related context, Araqchi briefed Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, during a phone call, on the clauses of the Iranian-American agreement, particularly the clause regarding stopping the Israeli aggression on Lebanon.
He stressed that this clause must enter into force immediately and remain implemented throughout the 60-day negotiation period, holding the United States and the guaranteeing parties responsible for ensuring compliance.
For his part, Berri renewed his thanks to Iran and regional and international parties for their support to Lebanon.
