TEHRAN, June 15 (YPA) – An oil tanker flying the Maltese flag transited on Monday through the Iranian shipping corridor in the Strait of Hormuz following the announcement of a peace agreement between Iran and the United States.
According to Iran’s Fars News Agency, the maritime tracking data showed that the LNG carrier Disha, registered under the Maltese flag, was the first recorded vessel to pass through the Strait of Hormuz after the announcement of the Iran-U.S. understanding.
The agency said the vessel, measuring length of 290 meters and a width of 46 meters, was traveling at a speed of about 10 knots at the time the image was recorded while navigating within Iran’s traffic separation scheme.
The ship’s declared destination was listed as Jacksonville, with an estimated arrival date of June 30.
