13-year-old Palestinian boy killed in Gaza amid continued Israeli ceasefire violations

GAZA, June 14 (YPA) – A 13-year-old Palestinian boy was killed by Israeli fire in Khan Younis early Sunday, as Israeli forces carried out a series of attacks and large-scale house demolitions across the Gaza Strip in a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Palestinian medical sources confirmed the death of Amir Imad al-Bashiti, 13, who was shot by Israeli occupation forces in the Batn al-Samin area, south of Khan Younis.

In the northern Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources reported that Israeli forces opened fire in the town of Beit Lahia, while Israeli naval vessels shelled the coast of Gaza City.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military carried out a large-scale demolition operation, destroying residential homes in eastern Gaza City.

In Khan Younis, Israeli armored units renewed artillery shelling in the eastern and southern parts of the city amid continuous gunfire.

The incidents come as casualties continue to mount despite the ceasefire. According to the Gaza Ministry of Health’s daily report issued on Saturday, 983 people have been killed and 3,122 injured since the ceasefire took effect, while 783 bodies have been recovered.

The ministry added that since the start of the Israeli offensive on October 7, 2023, the death toll in Gaza has risen to 72,993, with 173,230 people reported injured.
