Armored vehicles of Saudi-backed “Emergency” forces storm residential neighborhoods in Sayoun

HADRAMOUT, June 09 (YPA) – Armored vehicles and military machinery belonging to the Saudi-funded “Emergency” forces stormed residential neighborhoods in the city of Sayoun, the center of the oil-rich Hadramout governorate, to pursue and suppress protesters against the collapse of public services and the deterioration of living and economic conditions.

Local sources reported that the military campaign, which includes elements loyal to Islah Party, raided the neighborhoods to terrorize unarmed citizens and disperse angry protests demanding the provision of electricity, securing basic livelihoods, and the payment of salaries, with no disclosure on the number of detainees.

These measures coincide with growing popular resentment in Sayoun, Mukalla, and Aden cities due to prolonged power outages, amid accusations against the “Saudi Special Committee” of managing the crisis to serve American and Israeli interests in the region.
