Lebanese resistance intercepts Israeli aircraft, destroys vehicles in Southern country

BEIRUT, June 06 (YPA) – Hezbollah announced on Saturday that it executed a series of military operations targeting Israeli military positions and troop gatherings near the southern Lebanese border.

In a statement, Hezbollah reported that its air defense units intercepted an Israeli “Hermes 450 – Zik” drone over the town of Al-Shihabiyah. Hezbollah stated it fired a surface-to-air missile at the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), forcing it to retreat from Lebanese airspace.

According to Hezbollah media office, artillery rounds were launched at Israeli military gatherings in the vicinity of the historic Beaufort Castle (Qalaat al-Shaqif) and within the border town of Oudaisseh.

Furthermore, Hezbollah carried out drone strikes deeper into the conflict zone. The group stated it deployed an “Ababil” loitering munition to destroy an Israeli Humvee vehicle in the city of Khiam, confirming casualties among the crew.

In a separate incident in the town of Zoutar al-Sharqiyah, Hezbollah asserted that two additional “Ababil” suicide drones successfully struck an Israeli Merkava tank and set another Humvee ablaze.
