Hezbollah condemns deadly Israeli strike on Lebanese army

BEIRUT, June 06 (YPA) – Lebanon’s Hezbollah reiterated on Saturday its support for the Lebanese army following an Israeli occupation strike that targeted a military vehicle, describing the incident as part of a broader pattern of attacks against Lebanon.

In a statement, the Party said the strike, which killed two officers and a soldier, constituted a deliberate attack and added to as ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanese civilians and institutions, particularly in southern Lebanon and the western Bekaa region.

The statement argued that the attack reflected a failure by Lebanese authorities to adequately defend national sovereignty and protect the country’s interests.

It also criticized recent political decisions, claiming they had emboldened Israeli occupation to continue its aggression.

The statement offered condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers and expressed solidarity with the Lebanese Army, reaffirming support for the military institution and condemning the attack.

The remarks came amid continued hostilities in Lebanon, where Israeli aggressive operations have intensified since early March, resulting in significant casualties, damage to infrastructure, and large-scale displacement.

Although a temporary ceasefire came into effect in mid-April, violations and cross-border incidents have continued to be reported by both sides.
