BEIRUT, June 06 (YPA) – Two Lebanese soldiers were killed on Saturday in an Israeli airstrike on the Khardali-Nabatieh road in southern Lebanon.
The National News Agency reported that a Lebanese Army officer holding the rank of brigadier general and his driver were killed when an Israeli strike hit the Al-Khardali road.
The Khardali road is a vital transportation corridor connecting the Nabatieh region with the Marjeyoun district in southern Lebanon.
It crosses the Litani River and is geographically known as the Khardali Bridge. The site has been directly targeted by Israeli warplanes on several occasions.
