SANAA, June 04 (YPA) – Yemen defeated Lebanon in their final game of the qualifying round to book their spot in the AFC Asian Cup 2027 in Saudi Arabia.
Competing in Group B of the qualifying stage, Yemen delivered an impressive performance and successfully converted their dominance into goals during the second half.
Nasser Mohammedoh opened the scoring in the 61st minute, giving Yemen the lead and sparking celebrations among Yemeni supporters.
Yemeni players continued to pressure the Lebanese defense throughout the match, before Nasser Mohammedoh struck again in the 87th minute to add a second goal—underlining Yemen’s dominance and officially securing their qualification for the continental finals.
The result marks another significant achievement for Yemeni football, with the team earning qualification through determined performances and strong fighting spirit, raising hopes of a respectable campaign at the continental tournament in Saudi Arabia.
