Meteorological Center warns of thunderstorms, extreme heat in next 24 hours

SANAA, June 01 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast varying intensities of thunderstorms over the next 24 hours across parts of Taiz, Dhalea, Ibb, Raymah, western Dhamar, Mahweet, and Hajjah.

Scattered rainfall, occasionally accompanied by thunder, is also expected over the highlands of Lahj and Abyan, western Sanaa, Amran, Saada, and the Tihama plain.

Meanwhile, the Center predicted hot to extremely hot weather conditions across deserts, internal plateaus, plains, and coastal areas.

The Center warned citizens in rain-targeted areas against staying in flood passages or crossing valleys and reefs during and after rainfall.

Residents in desert and coastal regions were urged to take precautions against soaring temperatures, with advice to stay hydrated and avoid direct sunlight during midday.
