Gaza death toll nears 73,000 since October 2023

GAZA, May 30 (YPA) – the death toll from the Israeli military campaign in Gaza has risen to 72,938 Palestinians martyred and 172,919 injured since the start of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023, Palestinian medical sources in the Gaza Strip reported on Saturday.

According to the sources, hospitals across the Gaza Strip received seven bodies over the past 24 hours, including six newly reported fatalities and one person who later died from previous injuries.

An additional 25 wounded individuals were also admitted for treatment as result of fresh Israeli attacks.

The sources added that since the ceasefire period began on October 11, the number of reported fatalities has reached 929, while the number of injured has risen to 2,811. They also noted that 781 bodies have been recovered during the same period.

Medical officials said that an unknown number of victims remain trapped under rubble or stranded in areas inaccessible to emergency crews, as ambulance and rescue teams continue to face difficulties reaching affected locations.
