Israeli occupation army admits soldier killed, two injured in Hezbollah drone strike in southern Lebanon
OCCPIED QUDS, May 24 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation army acknowledged the death of a soldier—a maintenance specialist in the 9th Battalion of the 401st “Iron Tracks” Brigade—and the wounding of two others following a kamikaze drone strike launched by Hezbollah from Lebanon, targeting the “Baranit” military outpost on the border.
A separate, similar drone incident reportedly injured another soldier.
According to Hebrew media outlets (Kan, Army Radio, and Channel 12), the attack involved two explosive-laden drones hitting the outpost, which houses the headquarters of the Israeli occupation army’s 91st Galilee Division, with the wounded evacuated to Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese Resistance announced it had targeted a gathering of occupation soldiers at the Baranit barracks with an “Ababil” loitering munition, confirming direct hits that required the deployment of medevac helicopters.
Hezbollah continues its military operations against the Israeli occupation in southern Lebanon and sites across occupied northern Palestine, in response to violations of the ceasefire agreement enacted on April 17.
This comes amid a wave of sharp criticism within the occupation’s security establishment, with Haaretz quoting officers fighting in southern Lebanon who expressed “growing frustration” within military units due to a lack of clarity regarding the war’s actual strategy.
