Hundreds of coalition militiamen besieged in Hodeidah

HODEIDAH, Aug. 6 (YPA) – The Yemeni army forces on Monday imposed a siege on hundreds of militants loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in al-Durihemi district of Hodeidah province in the western coast front, field military sources reported.

Nearly 300 militants, mostly from the southern areas, are trapped in al-Durihemi area, the military sources said.

Other sources confirmed that the militants launched an appeal for lifting the siege on them, without any response from the coalition’s command in Aden.

Hundreds of the besieged militants are belonging to the so-called al-Mehdhar battalion of the so-called al-Amaliqa Brigade.

On Sunday, 30 militants of the same brigade were killed in an attack by Yemeni army forces.
