Albanese: What Ben-Gvir did is nothing compared to what Palestinian prisoners endure in Israeli prisons
GENEVA, May 20 (YPA) – UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese said on Wednesday that what the activists of the Steadfastness Flotilla were subjected to at the hands of Itamar Ben-Gvir “is insignificant compared to the treatment of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons.”
Albanese addressed the Italian Prime Minister on “X,” considering the condemnation of Ben-Gvir’s humiliation of the activists a good thing, but “luxury treatment” compared to what Palestinians face in prisons, stressing that words are not enough and that Italy must stop opposing the suspension of the EU agreement with Israel.
Her statements came after Israeli forces assaulted the flotilla activists in Ben-Gvir’s presence following their arrest and prevention from reaching Gaza.
