GAZA, May 11 (YPA) – Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, released new footage documenting a sniper operation targeting Israeli occupation’s soldiers east of Jabalia camp in northern Gaza during the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle.
According to the Brigades, the operation was carried out by Abdullah al-Najjar and Nidal Suleiman, who were later killed during ongoing confrontations in the Gaza Strip.
The operation dates back to May 17, 2024, when Al-Qassam first published footage showing the targeting of an Israeli soldier in areas east of Jabalia.
The video reportedly showed three Israeli soldiers positioned on the roof of a building while installing military equipment before one of them was struck by sniper fire, causing the remaining soldiers to withdraw from the site.
The footage also included scenes of additional sniper attacks targeting Israeli officers and soldiers using the locally manufactured “Al-Ghoul” sniper rifle, one of the weapons used by Palestinian resistance factions during the conflict in Gaza.
The rifle is named after Adnan al-Ghoul, a senior Palestinian resistance figure regarded as one of the founders of Hamas’ military manufacturing capabilities.
He played a major role in developing locally produced weapons systems, including Qassam rockets, mortar shells, and anti-armor weapons.
Adnan al-Ghoul was killed in October 2004 in an Israeli airstrike targeting his vehicle on Yaffa Street in Gaza City.
