ADEN, May 09 (YPA) – Saudi-led forces have continued to deploy military reinforcements to the southern Yemeni city of Aden as part of ongoing security and military measures that have intensified since January.
Local sources said on Saturday the arrival of new Saudi military convoys carrying armored vehicles, combat equipment, heavy transport trucks, ammunition, and various weapons intended to support factions aligned with Riyadh in the city.
According to the reports, Saudi forces have significantly expanded their military presence in Aden over recent months alongside efforts linked to a broader “restructuring” plan aimed at reorganizing armed factions operating in the city.
The measures reportedly include reducing the presence of factions affiliated with UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) inside Aden and relocating some units toward the southern provinces of Lahj and Dhale, in parallel with the return of senior officials affiliated with the Islah Party to the city in recent weeks.
The developments come amid reports of Saudi coordination with the Presidential Leadership Council and Yemeni military officials to organize a symbolic military parade marking the anniversary of Yemeni unity.
