BEIRUT, May 08 (YPA) – Lebanon’s health ministry said on Friday that four civilians were killed and eight others wounded in an Israeli airstrike targeting a town in the Sour region in the south of the country.
In a statement obtained by the National News Agency, the ministry confirmed that the Israeli strike targeted the town of Toura in the Tyre district resulted, in an initial toll, in the martyrdom of four persons, including two women, and the injury of eight others.
Since March 2nd, Israeli occupation forces have intensified their aggressive operations against Lebanon, targeting towns, villages, cities, and civilian infrastructure. These ongoing assaults have resulted in thousands of casualties and displaced nearly 1.5 million Lebanese citizens.
Although a ceasefire agreement has been in effect since mid-April, Israeli violations continue daily, with repeated breaches of the ceasefire terms.
