Meteorology forecasts heavy rainfall across several Yemeni provinces

SANAA, May 08 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast continued rainfall of varying intensity across parts of several governorates over the next 24 hours.

According to the issued weather bulletin, there is a possibility of rainfall of varying intensity in parts of the districts of Dhalea, Taiz, Ibb, Raymah, Dhamar, Mahwit, and the Tihama plains.

It is also expected that scattered rain, sometimes accompanied by thunder, may fall in parts of Saada, Hajjah, Amran, Sanaa, Bayda, and the highlands of Lahj and Abyan.

The center warned residents in desert areas, interior highlands, and coastal plains about the hot weather. Temperatures are expected to be hot to very hot, with maximum temperatures ranging between 36°C and 41°C.

It also warned citizens against entering or crossing valleys and flood-prone areas during and after rainfall due to the risk of sudden flash floods.

Residents are advised to stay away from power poles and tall trees to avoid lightning strikes.

Drivers are cautioned regarding reduced horizontal visibility, potential rockslides, and mudslides on mountain passes and slopes caused by heavy rain, low clouds, or dense fog.
