Iran targets US destroyers in retaliation for attacks on civilians, oil tanker

TEHRAN, May 08 (YPA) – The Iranian Armed Forces announced a large-scale attack using missiles and drones against three US Navy destroyers near the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman, forcing them to retreat.

The Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Headquarters stated that the operation was a direct response to US strikes on an Iranian oil tanker and civilian areas in (Bandar Khamir, Sirik, and Qeshm Island).

The statement confirmed significant damage to the hostile vessels as strikes continue in the region.
