Seven people killed in Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon
Yemeni parliament warns Saudi-led coalition countries against undermining Yemen’s unity, sovereignty
BEIRUT, May 06 (YPA) – The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday that 17 people were killed in Israeli occupation’s airstrikes over the past 24 hours, signaling an escalation in both the intensity and scope of the bombardment.
The ministry said the cumulative death toll since March 2 has risen to 2,702, with 8,311 injured, reflecting the mounting human cost of ongoing Israeli aggression.
It also warned of a sharp increase in attacks on the health sector, documenting 132 incidents targeting ambulance and rescue teams, resulting in casualties among medical personnel and damage to health centers, ambulances, and hospitals.
Observers said the figures point to a recurring pattern of strikes affecting medical infrastructure, worsening civilian suffering and straining the healthcare system’s capacity to cope with rising humanitarian needs amid continued air raids.
The escalation comes amid growing concerns over a potential collapse of the health sector, as hospitals and emergency teams face mounting pressure under increasingly challenging field conditions.
