Israeli occupation intends to carry out large-scale raids on Al-Aqsa Mosque

OCCUPIED QUDS, May 05 (YPA) – Al-Aqsa Mosque witnessed a dangerous escalation following a provocative incident in which female members of the Israeli occupation “Border Police” forces brandished the Israeli flag atop the mosque’s Western Portico.

Human rights organizations have characterized this move as a new violation within an accelerated campaign to impose “Judaization” across the Holy Sanctuary.

This incident coincides with a promotional video released by the “Temple Mount in Our Hands” (Beyadenu) organization, which advocates for large-scale incursions and the raising of Israeli flags inside the mosque on Friday, May 15, 2026. This provocative campaign is being bolstered by legislative pressure, as Hebrew reports reveal that 13 members of the “Knesset” have formally requested the opening of the mosque’s gates to Zionist settlers on that date to mark so-called “Jerusalem Day.”

Furthermore, these efforts are being spearheaded by far-right lawmakers, led by “Amit Halevi,” who seek to empower the occupation’s National Security Minister, “Itamar Ben-Gvir,” to unilaterally alter the established historical and legal status quo of the Holy Compound.

In response to these threats—which align with the 78th anniversary of the Nakba—Palestinian and Jerusalemite activists have issued an urgent call for “Nafīr” (general mobilization) and mass gatherings at Al-Aqsa to thwart plans for collective incursions and flag-raising.

Palestinian authorities have warned that such “blatant assaults” on freedom of worship and attempts to enforce temporal and spatial division of the mosque risk triggering a field explosion and a full-scale confrontation in the Holy City.
