ABYAN/SHABWA, May 03 (YPA) – Three people were killed this Sunday in separate tribal skirmishes across the governorates of Abyan and Shabwa, amid a sharp decline in security within areas controlled by Saudi-backed forces.
In Abyan, a young man identified as Shallal Al-Maqrou’ was killed during violent clashes between gunmen from the “Al-Abdullah” tribe. Local sources reported that the fighting spread toward the Al-Arm area, sparking panic among residents as state authorities remained notably absent.
Simultaneously, Shabwa witnessed two separate fatalities. One member of the “Al-Abdullah bin Daha” tribe was killed in the Al-Saeed district due to a renewed tribal vendetta. In a separate incident, Saeed bin Nasser Al-Himsi was shot dead by his cousin in the heart of the Habban district market.
These incidents follow violent confrontations on Saturday in the Radoum district of Shabwa, which left one person dead and three others wounded. The escalating violence underscores growing fears of a wider tribal conflict fueled by the ongoing security vacuum in the region.
