Unknown gunman assassinate citizen in al-Mahra

AL-GHAYDAH, April 28 (YPA) – The city of Al-Ghaydah, the capital of Al-Mahra Governorate in eastern Yemen, which is under the control of Saudi-backed forces, witnessed a mysterious assassination on Tuesday.

Local sources confirmed that an unknown gunman opened fire on a citizen, believed to be from the northern governorates, while he was in his car near the telecommunications building in the city center, killing him instantly.

The sources explained that the gunman managed to escape to an unknown location, while Saudi-backed armed elements surrounded the scene of the incident without pursuing the perpetrator of the assassination.

The circumstances and motives of the incident remain unclear, amidst a state of tension and security instability in the eastern and southern regions of Yemen.
