ADEN, April 25 (YPA) – The city of Aden in southern Yemen has witnessed a wave of public discontent following reports of products of Israeli origin appearing in local markets, amid accusations that the Saudi-backed government in Aden is facilitating their entry and advancing economic normalization.
Activists and residents circulated images on social media showing goods allegedly produced in Israeli entity being sold openly in commercial outlets, including a tomato paste product whose labeling indicated Israeli manufacture.
Many citizens described the presence of such items as a provocation to Yemenis who support the Palestinian cause, while observers argued that their circulation undermines boycott efforts, which they view as a moral and principled stance.
Activists characterized the development as a serious breach, accusing authorities of enabling the entry of these goods through ports and crossings under their control, and attempting to normalize economic ties as a de facto reality in areas under their administration.
Observers further suggested that the appearance of such products reflects broader political dynamics, interpreting it as indicative of a shift toward normalization policies that conflict with longstanding public positions on the issue.
